ISRSE-40 Set to Debut in the UK

Mark your calendars for a landmark event in the space and remote sensing communities. The 40th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE-40) will make its UK debut from March 17 to 21, 2025. The symposium will be held at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire, UK. This historic event will run alongside the inaugural Farnborough International Space Show, designed to spearhead the commercial space era.

The co-location of ISRSE-40 and the Farnborough International Space Show offers a unique chance for the global space sector to explore the entire ecosystem—both upstream and downstream—in one venue. This collaboration will be the UK’s sole opportunity in 2025 to gather international stakeholders across public, private, and non-profit sectors on this scale. The ISRSE-40 will bring together government officials, academics, industry leaders, and NGOs, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to addressing contemporary challenges in the space sector.

Conference Theme:

ISRSE-40 will tackle the pressing issues of the 21st century with a focus on how Earth observations (EO) can enhance sustainable development and resilience across various sectors. Themed ‘Synergy in Sight: Harnessing Earth Observation for Sustainable Development,’ the symposium will delve into the intersections of emerging technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global partnerships to deepen our understanding of Earth-system dynamics and their applications.

Key Topics to Include:

  • Climate Change and Environmental Monitoring
  • Sustainable Land and Marine Resource Management
  • Resilient Urban and Infrastructure Systems
  • Innovative Earth Observation Technologies
  • Enhancing Diversity for the Sector
  • Interdisciplinary and Cross-Sectoral Collaboration

Who Will Attend:

ISRSE-40 is set to attract a diverse range of participants dedicated to advancing remote sensing technologies and Earth observation data analysis. Expected attendees include:

  • Space Agencies: Executives focused on developing Earth observation capabilities.
  • Academia: Researchers and students from geosciences, environmental science, engineering, and related disciplines.
  • Industry: Companies engaged in space technology, satellite operations, data analytics, environmental monitoring, and third-party space data services.
  • Government and Policy Makers: National and international agencies involved in environmental management, disaster response, and sustainable development.
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs): Entities working in environmental conservation, humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and societal resilience.
  • Financial and Insurance Sectors: Professionals involved in risk management, insurance underwriting, space investment, and catastrophe modeling.

This convergence of minds and expertise promises to drive forward innovative solutions and collaborative approaches to the pressing challenges of our time.
