BEL Secures Orders Worth Rs. 1,155 Crores

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has recently announced securing significant orders valued at Rs. 1,155 crores.

The company has been awarded a major contract worth Rs. 850 crores by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) for the supply of indigenous Multi-Function Radar (MFR) in the X Band. This order was officially received by Mr. T.D. Nandakumar, General Manager (ADSN) of BEL, from Mr. Sreejith, Director (Operations) of CSL. The handover took place in the presence of Mr. Suresh Kumar K.V., Director (Marketing) of BEL, Mr. Jose V.J., Director (Finance) of CSL, and Mrs. Prabha Goyal, Executive Director (National Marketing) of BEL.

The MFR, fully designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and manufactured by BEL, is a state-of-the-art radar system capable of detecting, acquiring, and tracking airborne targets to enhance naval ship protection.

In addition to the CSL order, BEL has recently secured further contracts worth Rs. 305 crores. These include orders for navigational complex systems for ships, thermal imagers, communication equipment, fire control systems, gun control systems, spares, and services. With these latest orders, BEL’s total order book for the current financial year has reached an impressive Rs. 7,075 crores.
